About RunCost
Not a car site. A cost-of-running site.
Why this exists
fueleconomy.gov is excellent and will always outrank this site for "what MPG does a Corolla get" — it is the source of the number, and it should. This site is not trying to take that.
What it does instead is the arithmetic the EPA cannot publish: cost per mile, annual spend at a fuel price you choose, class rankings, head-to-head comparisons, and the generation-by-generation drift that shows whether a nameplate has actually got better or just heavier.
Who runs it
Built by Amit Sharma in Auckland, New Zealand, as one of a family of free data tools at amit.marketing.
How it is funded
Google AdSense. No manufacturer or dealer pays for placement, there is no affiliate car-buying funnel, and no model has ever been promoted or buried. The rankings are the EPA's numbers in order.
